Over the years anytime I've gotten a new license or new school I.D., I've thrown the old one in a little wooden box in my junk drawer. The last time I renewed my license I came across all those licenses and school I.D.'s collected since my first license in 1976. There are many different ways of sharing one's journey of finding faith in Christ. Here's my journey as seen through the photos on my Washington State Driver's licenses and school I.D.'s. They say a photo is worth a thousand words. These series of photos show a stark contrast between the days of my rebellion and the days since when the power of the grace of Christ has been transforming my life. I look at those early pictures and see a very troubled young man, growing in sin and rebellion; I look at the latter pictures and see a man being transformed by God's grace and at home in the love of Christ! I am grateful and thankful to the One who has so loved me--and has so loved you!
"For we also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life." (Titus 3:3-7 NASB)
